PerfectTablePlan allows you to create table plans for wedding, conferences and banquets.

PerfectTablePlan makes creating table plans a snap, automatically assigning guests to seats with a single mouse click. Last minute cancellations and changes can be handled with minimal stress. The software is easy to use and is suitable even for people with very basic computer skills. The automatic seat assignment uses a genetic algorithm to automatically seat each guest according to their preferences - near to the people they like (and away from those they don't!) - but no knowledge of the mathematics is required.

The developers chose Qt because the enterprise framework contained all the major components needed, including a drawing canvas (QCanvas) for the table plans. Additionally, according to Oryx Digital, Qt gave them the freedom to be able to develop and market their software on multiple platforms. Developed initially in Windows, Oryx is looking to release a Mac OS X version later in 2005. Qt's support for internationalization, the C++ raw efficiency for the genetic algorithms that do the automatic table layout and Qt's very good fit with C++ development made Oryx Digital developers enthusiastic Qt users.
