QSA release adds 4.4 compatibility

Trolltech, a global leader in cross-platform application frameworks, has announced the winners of its inaugural Qt Open Source Development Award.

Trolltech® announced the financial results for the first quarter 2008. Trolltech ASA generated revenues of NOK 55.6 million in the first quarter, which constitutes a year-over-year revenue growth of 15.5 percent. There has been a positive sales trend in Q1 driven by the sales of the Qt® application framework and Qtopia® software.

Trolltech, a global leader in cross-platform application frameworks, has released a new version of its flagship product, Qt. Key features added to the popular framework in Qt 4.4 include functionality that, for the first time, enable developers to create applications that blend content from the live Web into native desktop and mobile applications. Qt 4.4 also makes it easier to deliver a consistent user experience across Windows, Macintosh and Linux systems, as well as on mobile devices.

QtCentre launced the second edition of the Qt Programming Contest, the only programming contest focused on the Qt®/ Qtopia® community. Last year a range of innovative Qt-based applications were awarded with various electronic devices - Qtopia enabled mobile phones, laptop, recreational devices, various books on software development and more. Perhaps more important, the contestants were shown to the Qt community and new contacts between developers were made.

Qt Jambi 4.4 is the upcoming release of Trolltech's software development framework for Java developers. The Qt Jambi preview is based on Qt 4.4. The final release of Qt Jambi 4.4 is currently scheduled for late Q2 2008.

Trolltech® announced today that Roku, Inc. has selected Qt for Embedded Linux® to be integrated into a soon-to-be-announced multimedia streaming product. Trolltech® announced the financial results for the fourth quarter 2007. Trolltech ASA generated revenues of NOK 57 million in the fourth quarter 2007. Full year revenue growth was up with 25 percent. The growth was primarily driven by the sales of the Qt® and Qtopia® software.

Trolltech ASA today announced that it has entered into a license agreement with Torch Mobile Inc., one of the world's most experienced developers of WebKit-based software solutions for mobile and embedded devices. Trolltech will distribute Torch Mobile’s innovative Web browser, the Iris Browser, as part of the company's Qtopia offering.
